Giacomo Ferlaino
IT project manager with an engineering background · former CTO
Since 2017 I've been the bridge between people with an idea and people who write the code. I co-founded Registered, a marketplace for the dance world, and was its CTO all the way to the Culttech accelerator in Vienna; then I worked as a consultant and project manager for companies and startups. I like understanding how things work, and in my spare time I build apps with generative AI. I live in Paris and I'm available now.
Interests
Outside work: chess, guitar, poker, trading, languages, nature, and a few things built from salvaged materials. Touch the objects around the fire.
Chess
I play whenever I can. A game is a small project: you plan, you make mistakes, you learn.

I play the guitar: that's where Tabello came from.
Football & sport
Football, played and watched. And sport in general.
Poker
Probability, patience and a bit of psychology: making good calls without holding all the cards.
Trading
I follow the markets: charts, risk management and a lot of discipline.
Building with recycled things
I like giving things a second life: planks, jars and old parts become something new. Like this birdhouse.
Languages
Italian, French, English and Spanish. And the urge to learn more.
Nature
Walking in the woods and watching how things work. Part of this forest comes from there.

I've always read a lot, trade magazines included. This past year I went back to novels and haven't stopped since. Open the box and take a book.

I started with management engineering in Turin and Rende, then an ITS diploma as a programmer and a degree in economics, which I'll finish in March 2027. Along the way, plenty of courses on blockchain, cloud and security.

Taught in English, fast-tracked thanks to recognition of my engineering studies. Thesis in progress, defence planned for March 2027.

Digital project manager — Alteredu srl
A certified Italian online-learning platform, founded as a startup in 2017.
- Led the development of Demopen, coordinating a remote outsourced team of 5 mobile developers.
- Sought out and negotiated new partnerships and improved the product with the IT lead developer (website, online courses).
- Albopop: automatic Telegram publishing of official public notices, adopted by more than 6 municipalities.

CMDBuild integration for a transport company in South Tyrol.
- Managed the in-house integration of CMDBuild (open-source CMDB and ITSM platform): configuration, CI modelling, go-live.
- Optimised processes and data management following an ITIL approach, together with management.
- Ran day-to-day operations and level-2 support escalations.

- Led the architecture and development of the e-commerce platform, from scoping to production, managing 3 external developers.
